Jason Roe brings nearly 20 years of experience on campaigns and public policy at the federal, state and local levels. He has been nationally recognized for his talents being named one of Campaigns & Elections Magazine’s “Rising Stars” of 2002 and one of the “35 Under 35” most effective staffers on Capitol Hill by The Hill newspaper in 2005.
Jason founded Federal Strategy Group, the Washington, DC office of the largest public affairs firm in the United States, featuring seventeen offices in eleven states and the District of Columbia. At Federal Strategy Group, Jason has advised some of America’s most recognizable Fortune 500 companies as well as political campaigns and parties on electoral strategy.
From 2003-2007, Jason was chief of staff to Congressman Tom Feeney (R-FL) and in 2006, managed the surprise victory of Congressman Peter Roskam (R-IL) in one of the most closely watched races of the ’06 cycle. In the worst outcome for Republicans since Watergate, Mr. Roskam defeated one of the Democrats’ top recruits, 51-49.
Jason managed the 2000 campaign of Congressman James Rogan (R-CA) in what remains the most expensive House race in U.S. History. He served as an advisor to Gov. Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay’s 2004 reelection, Congressman Steve Pearce’s 2002 election, Dan Lungren’s 1998 race for California Governor, and Sen. Bob Dole’s 1996 presidential campaign. He was also on the advance teams of Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Bush for President, and Vice President Dick Cheney.
Jason has also been active in international democracy-building. In 2005, he served as an election observer in Liberia’s presidential election; in 2003, he led a 20-person team of Iraqis in developing the first analysis of the country’s emerging political parties; in 2003, he served as an election observer in Nigeria’s presidential election; and in 2001, he advised Bulgaria’s Union of Democratic Forces in their parliamentary elections.
Jason is a contributor on the Fox News Channel, a member of the Board of Directors of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the American Association of Political Consultants, an instructor at the Leadership Institute on media and political strategy, and a faculty member at the National Institute of Politics. In 2005, the US-German Marshall Fund selected Jason as one of its Manfred Woerner Fellows which focuses on strengthening the transatlantic relationship. Jason is a past vice president and secretary for the Congressional House Chiefs of Staff Association and member of the Board of Governors of the National Republican Club (Capitol Hill Club). He graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Public Administration and Economics.
